BEICHUAN, China - China said the toll of dead and missing from last week's powerful earthquake jumped to more than 80,000, while the government appealed Thursday for millions of tents to shelter homeless survivors.
The confirmed number of dead rose nearly 10,000 from the day before to 51,151, Cabinet spokesman Guo Weimin told a news conference. Another 29,328 people remained missing and nearly 300,000 were hurt in the May 12 quake centered in Sichuan province, he said.
The disaster left 5 million people homeless and leveled more than 80 percent of the buildings in some remote towns and villages areas near the epicenter. In bigger cities whole apartment blocks collapsed or are now too dangerous to live in because of damage and worries about aftershocks.
"We need more than 3.3 million tents," Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told reporters, adding that 400,000 tents have already been delivered. It was the second call for tents from China in recent days.
"We hope and welcome international assistance in this regard. We hope the international community can give priority in providing tents," he said.
Underscoring the need, Chinese President Hu Jintao visited two tent manufacturing companies in eastern Zhejiang province, urging workers to boost production to meet needs from the disaster area, state media reported.
U.S. aid to earthquake victims totals $2.8 million, Ambassador Clark T. Randt Jr. said, including medical equipment and satellite images of damaged infrastructure. The American Red Cross had donated $10 million, and American companies operating in China have pledged more than $34 million.
In the effort to assure people the government was placing top priority on relief efforts, Premier Wen Jiabao returned Thursday to the disaster zone, the official Xinhua News Agency said — his second trip there following a visit immediately after the quake.
The government is also grappling with official estimates of more than 4,000 children orphaned by the quake, and received hundreds calls from people offering to adopt them.
Anger that so many children died because their school buildings were poorly built continued to simmer online and in state media. The Southern Metropolis News quoted a rescuer as saying that rubble from the Juyuan high school, where more than 270 students died, showed that no steel reinforcing bars were used in construction, only iron wire.
Pictures posted online of Wufu town, where some 200 students died when the Fuxin No. 2 Primary School collapsed, showed roads lined with wreaths. Piles of dusty school bags were among the rubble.
"The children did not die because of a natural disaster, they died because of a dangerous building," read a hand-painted banner strung across a roadway.
In Beichuan, the smell of bleach was overpowering as rescue workers in white safety suits sprayed disinfectant in the area. Villagers were picking up medicine from stands set up by the government.
The town's government offices opened Thursday at a hotel in neighboring Anxian county.
"Our previous office buildings collapsed, but our responsibilities, never," Ma Yun, head of the county's administrative office, was quoted as saying by the official Xinhua News Agency.
Blocked streams, earthquake-loosened soil, mudslides and the upcoming rainy season create the risk of secondary disasters that can make relief work and rebuilding even more difficult, officials with the Ministry of Land and Resources said Thursday.
Avoiding further geological disasters during relief work and rebuilding will be a "daunting task," said Yun Xiaosu, vice minister of land and resources.
The earthquake and aftershocks created 34 lakes, known as barrier lakes, as debris blocked rivers and streams throughout the earthquake area.
"The dangers at the barrier lakes are severe," Yun said. "The water level in some lakes is high and rising. If there's a break, it will cause severe damage."
People who might be in the way of breaks already have been evacuated, he added.
The region's rainy season starts in June, creating further problems and risk of major mudslides, Yun said.
The torch relay, a symbol of the country's hopes for the Beijing Olympics, restarted Thursday with a minute of silence at a container terminal in the eastern seaport city of Ningbo. The torch run has been toned down in the wake of the quake.
Originally planned for next month, organizers said the Sichuan leg of the run would be delayed until just before the start of the Aug. 8 games.
In another sign of attempts to return to normal after the quake, officials in the Sichuan provincial capital of Chengdu ordered all government bodies and companies to resume regular operations, Xinhua reported.

New Delhi – Even as the United Nations and regional countries gear up to call for more aid for Burma's cyclone victims, aid workers on the ground said time is running out.
The UN and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), of which Burma is a member, said they will hold a pledging conference for cyclone victims in Rangoon on Sunday.
An aid worker in Rangoon, who requested anonymity, said cyclone victims are dying by the hour as several villages, where the cyclone left its mark, had not received any relief or aid supplies.
"The conference, in principle is welcome, but is behind time. Time has been wasted in saving lives," the aid worker said.
The aid worker, whose organization has been providing aid extensively to villages in Irrawaddy delta, said more aid supplies and access to the affected areas is the need of the hour.
"It is not the time to talk but act, if we want to save lives," he added.
On Monday, Foreign ministers of the ASEAN agreed to form a task force that will give shape to the ASEAN-led mechanism in coordinating and liaising with the UN and the international community in assisting Burma to recover from the impact of Cyclone Nargis.
The ASEAN and the UN also agreed to hold a pledging conference on Sunday that will invite international donors to assist Burma in their effort to recover from the cyclone.
But the ASEAN's initiative, accepted by the Burmese junta after more than two weeks of the cyclone, could be the junta's ploy of avoiding international pressure to open their doors for aid agencies to help cyclone victims, the Burma Campaign UK said.
"This is a dilatory tactic being played by the regime. They don't care about the people dying," Mark Farmaner, director of the UK based Burma Campaign said.
Farmaner said, the junta is worried about the voices of the international community that has demanded unilateral action against the junta and refusing permission to aid workers to enter the affected areas.
"So, they are willing to accept the Asean-led initiative," said Farmaner, adding that he does not even believe that the Asean-led mechanism would be implemented at all as the junta is just playing another game.
"The Asean-led mechanism is not enough to save lives and worse, it might never be implemented at all," he added.
Meanwhile, the Burmese government on Tuesday announced a three-day national mourning for the cyclone victims, after more than two weeks. Critics said it is just a show and asked; Where was Than Shwe all this time?
Than Shwe, Burma's military supremo, in the past two weeks since Cyclone Nargis hit the country's coastal region, made two public appearances – during the constitutional referendum and on Saturday, to take a look at cyclone victims.
Win Min, a Burmese military analyst based in Thailand, said Than Shwe has been in his jungle capital Naypyitaw ever since the cyclone hit Burma and was not concerned about the impact of the devastating cyclone.
"His only concern is for the referendum and he does not care if millions of people die," Win Min said.
However, after a 92.4 percent approval of the constitution in the rigged referendum, Than Shwe finally made an appearance at government orchestrated refugee camps in Rangoon and Irrawaddy division.
The government said it has been providing aid and assistance to cyclone victims and even declared that the phase of emergency is over and it is embarking on the next phase of reconstruction.
However, the United Nations said only less than 25 percent of the estimated 2.5 million cyclone victims have received initial aid and more aid – food, water and medicines – are needed to avoid the 'Second wave of Death.'
The World Food Programme, which has a number of warehouses in Burma including in Laputta and Bogale townships, which are among the hardest hit by the cyclone, said they have been able to despatch food to 340,000 people out of their targeted 750,000 victims.
"Clearly, more aid is needed for the victims," Marcus Prior, WFP spokesperson told Mizzima.
But Burma Campaign UK's Farmaner said the Asean-led mechanism and the UN's efforts to hold a pledging conference might not help, as the Burmese regime makes promises, whenever it faces pressure but never keeps them.
"Because we know that the regime lies, over and over again," Farmaner said.

8 Burmese Journalists Arrested in Laputta

Eight Burmese journalists who were trying to cover the cyclone disaster in Laputta Township in the Irrawaddy delta were arrested on Monday night by Burmese soldiers and detained for one night, according to sources in Rangoon.
Those arrested included journalists from The Voice journal, Yangon Times and 7 Day News journal.
A Rangoon-based colleague of one of the detained journalists told The Irrawaddy on Wednesday: “Soldiers came and arrested them at their hotel about 11 p.m. The soldiers accused the eight reporters of failing to inform the authorities of their presence in Laputta and then arrested them.
“The soldiers deleted all the photographs the journalists had taken,” the source said. “The soldiers threatened the journalists and swore at them.”
The eight journalists were interrogated all night by the soldiers, who were reportedly assigned to Light Infantry Division 66, said the source.
The journalists were released the following morning at about 7 a.m. after signing an agreement with the authorities that they would not return to cyclone-affected areas again without military authorization.
Since the cyclone of May 2-3, the Burmese military authorities have further tightened their strict code of censorship and restrictions on journals and publications in Burma, said the source.
“Only positive stories are allowed. Photos about refugees, victims and children are always rejected,” said the source in Rangoon. “The censorship board will only allow propaganda stories and photos, such as reconstruction projects, to be published.”
All publications are banned from printing the rising death toll from Cyclone Nargis, added the source.
Meanwhile, owners of guest houses in Laputta and Bogalay have been ordered to submit their guest registers to local authorities and report any arrivals of strangers, foreigners or persons from organizations that could be aid-related.
The Burmese military government announced on May 9 that it would permit supplies and aid from the international community to the affected regions, but that no foreigners or persons without permits could enter the cyclone-affected areas in the Irrawaddy delta and Rangoon Division

တ႐ုတ္ႏုိင္ငံမွ ငလ်င္ဒုကၡသည္မ်ားကုိ ကူညီရန္အသင့္ရွိေၾကာင္း ကမၻာ့ဘဏ္က ခ်က္ခ်င္း ကတိ ျပဳေသာ္လည္း မုန္တုိင္းဒဏ္ ခံရသည့္ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံအတြက္ ေငြေၾကးအကူအညီေပးမည္မဟုတ္ ေၾကာင္း ကမၻာ့ဘဏ္ အရာရွိတဦးက ေျပာသည္။
ေၾကြးက်န္သည့္ ႏုိင္ငံမ်ားကို အကူအညီ မေပးေရးကိစၥမွာ ကမၻာ့ဘဏ္၏ ေပၚလစီျဖစ္ျပီး ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံသည္ ၁၉၉၈ ခုမွစျပီး ေၾကြးဆပ္ရန္ ပ်က္ကြက္ခဲ့သည္။ ထုိ႔ေၾကာင့္ ျမန္မာမုန္တုိင္း ဒုကၡသည္မ်ားအတြက္ ကမၻာ့ဘဏ္က ကူညီရန္ မျဖစ္ႏုိင္ေၾကာင္း ကမၻာ့ဘဏ္ ဦးေဆာင္ ညႊန္ၾကားေရးမွဴး Juan Jose Daboub က ေျပာသည္။

ျပည္တြင္းစစ္နဲ႔ ငတ္မြတ္ေခါင္းပါးေဘးေၾကာင့္ ဖြတ္ဖြတ္ေက်ေနတဲ့ ဆုိမာလီမွာ မယ္မယ္ရရ အစုိးရ မရွိေတာ့တာ ၁၀ ႏွစ္ေက်ာ္ျပီတဲ့။ “စစ္ပြဲမရွိရင္ ငါတုိ႔ႏုိင္ငံက အရမ္းေနလုိ႔ေကာင္းတာ”လုိ႔ တမ္းတမ္းတတ ညည္းေနက် ဆုိမာလီသူ ငါ့သူငယ္ခ်င္းေတြ ေျပာဖူးတယ္။ ဒီအတုိင္းဆုိ ငါတုိ႔ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံကေတာ့ တတုိင္းျပည္လံုး အစုိးရေတြ ျဖစ္ကုန္ျပီ။ ကယ္ဆယ္ေရး၀န္ၾကီး၊ ျပန္လည္ ေနရာခ်ထားေရး၀န္ၾကီး၊ စားနပ္ရိကၡာ ေထာက္ပံ့ေရး၀န္ၾကီး၊ ေရအရင္းအျမစ္ဆုိင္ရာ ၀န္ၾကီး ဆုိျပီး အခ်င္းခ်င္း ေနာက္ေျပာင္ေခၚရင္း အထုပ္ၾကီးအထုပ္ငယ္ေတြ၊ ေရသန္႔ဘူးေတြ ထမ္းျပီး မုန္တုိင္းထိသြားတဲ့ အရပ္ေတြကုိ ဆင္းေနၾကတဲ့ လူေတြကုိ အစုိးရ ဆုိတဲ့ ပုဂၢိဳလ္ေတြ ဘယ္လုိမ်က္ႏွာနဲ႔ ရင္ဆုိင္ပါလိမ့္။ အင္းေလ... ရင္မဆုိင္ခ်င္လုိ႔ပဲ သူတုိ႔ ေရွာင္ေနၾကတာေပါ့။ တျခားႏုိင္ငံမွာ ဒီလုိသြားလုပ္ရင္ ျပဳတ္သြားတာ ၾကာျပီလုိ႔ ၾကိမ္းမိရင္ “ဒါ ျမန္မာျပည္ေလ”လုိ႔ အေၾကာင္သား ၾကည့္ျပီး ျပန္ေျပာမယ္ထင္တယ္။
ကုလသမဂၢၾကီးရဲ႕ အတြင္းေရးမွဴးခ်ဳပ္ တေယာက္လံုးလဲ ျမန္မာျပည္က ႏုိင္ငံ့အၾကီးအကဲဆုိတဲ့ သူနဲ႔ေတြ႔မွ မရႈမလွ ခံရေတာ့တာပဲ။ “က်ေနာ္ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္မွဴးၾကီး သန္းေရႊနဲ႔ ဖုန္းဆက္စကားေျပာခြင့္ ရဖုိ႔ အၾကိမ္ၾကိမ္ ၾကိဳးစားပါတယ္။ မေအာင္ျမင္ဘူး”တဲ့။ ေဂ်ာ့ဒဗလ်ဴဘုရွ္တုိ႔၊ ေဂၚဒြန္ဘေရာင္းတုိ႔နဲ႔ စကားေျပာခ်င္ရင္ ဘယ္တုန္းကမွ ေအာက္မက်ခဲ့ရဖူးတဲ့ ဘန္ကီမြန္းခမ်ာ ေျပာရွာတယ္။ ကယ္ဆယ္ေရးပစၥည္းေေတြ လက္ခံပါမယ့္အေရး အထပ္ထပ္ ေတာင္းပန္ေနရတဲ့ ႏုိင္ငံတကာက သမၼတေတြ၊ ၀န္ၾကီးခ်ဳပ္ေတြ ဘ၀ေရာ ဘာထူးလဲ။ ငါတုိ႔အတြက္ကေတာ့ ျမန္မာျပည္မွာ ေပၚထြန္းခဲ့တဲ့ အစုိးရတခုဟာ ကမၻာ့ေခါင္းေဆာင္ေတြကုိ ဒီလုိ ႏုိင္ခ်င္တုိင္း ႏုိင္ဖူးတဲ့အေၾကာင္း ေနာက္လာေနာင္သားေတြကုိ ျပန္ေျပာျပရတာေပါ့ေလ။

မုိးက်လာျပီဆုိေတာ့ ဒုကၡသည္ေတြအတြက္ ျခံဳစရာေစာင္နဲ႔ အမုိးမုိးဖုိ႔ တာရပတ္္စေတြ လိုတယ္တဲ့။ အိမ္မုိးဖုိ႔ ထုိင္းက လွဴတဲ့ သြပ္ျပားေတြေတာ့ ေရာင္းစားလုိ႔ က်န္မွ က်န္ေသးရဲ႕လားမသိ။ ျခံဳဖုိ႔ေစာင္ကေတာ့ ႏုိင္ငံတကာက လွဴတဲ့ ပစၥည္းေတြ ျပန္ေရာင္းတဲ့ ေနရာေတြမွာ နင္တုိ႔ လုိက္၀ယ္ရင္ ရမွာပါ။ ေလယာဥ္ေပၚက ခ်ျပီးကတည္းက ပုိ႔ထားတဲ့ ဂုိေဒါင္ေတြမွာ တုိးတုိးတိတ္တိတ္ ေျပာျပီး ၀ယ္လဲ ရတယ္ဆုိ။ ဒါလဲ ေကာင္းတာပဲ။ ပင္ရင္းဒုိင္ၾကီးက ၀ယ္ေတာ့ ေစ်းသက္သာတာေပါ့။
ဒုကၡသည္ေတြအတြက္ ေဆးေလး၀ါးေလး ၀ယ္ေပးဖုိ႔ ရွည္ျပီး ငါ အၾကံေပးမိေတာ့ “စားဖုိ႔ဆန္က အဓိကပဲ။ ဆန္၀ယ္ေပးဖုိ႔ ပုိက္ဆံထဲက ေဆးဖုိး မဖဲ့ႏုိင္ဘူး”လုိ႔ နင္တုိ႔ လက္ေတြ႔က်က် ျပန္ေျဖတယ္။ တျခားသူငယ္ခ်င္းတေယာက္က သူ႔ေငြနဲ႔ ဆပ္ျပာနဲ႔ သြားတုိက္ေဆးေတြ ရသေလာက္ ၀ယ္လွဴေပးဖုိ႔ ေျပာတုန္းကလဲ “စားလုိ႔မရတဲ့ ပစၥည္းေတြအေၾကာင္း ဒီအခ်ိန္ လာမေျပာရင္ ေကာင္းမယ္။ ခုေန ထမင္းမစားရမွ ေသမွာ။ ပါးစပ္ေတြ ကုိယ္ေတြ နံေဟာင္ေန႐ံုနဲ႔ လူမေသေသးဘူး”တဲ့။ ပိန္ခ်ံဳးေနတဲ့ ဗုိက္ပူနံကား ကေလးေတြ၊ မ်က္တြင္းေဟာက္က်ေနတဲ့ အဘုိးၾကီး အမယ္ၾကီးေတြ လူ႔ဘ၀ထဲက ထြက္မသြားရေအာင္ စုေဆာင္းလုိ႔ ရသမွ် စားေရရိကၡာနဲ႔ တားေနရတဲ့ နင္တုိ႔ စကားေတြဟာ တခ်က္တခ်က္ မခ်ိဳသာႏုိင္ေတာ့တာ ငါ နားလည္ပါတယ္။ “မုိးရြာထဲမွာ ဒုကၡသည္ေတြကုိ အက်ႌပါ ခၽြတ္ေပးခဲ့ရလုိ႔ ျပန္လာေတာ့ အမ်ိဳးသမီးေတြပဲ အက်ႌ ျပန္ပါတယ္။ သြားေ၀တဲ့ ေယာက်္ားမွန္သမွ် ကုိယ့္အိမ္ေပၚ ကုိယ္ျပန္တက္ေတာ့ အကႌ်ၤကၽြတ္ခ်ည္းပဲ“လုိ႔ ေျပာျပတုန္းကေတာ့ နင္တုိ႔ ရယ္ႏုိင္ၾကေသးတယ္။
ဒီေလာက္ ၀ုန္းဒုိင္းၾကဲေနတာေတာင္ ၾကပ္ေျပးက မထြက္တမ္း ဂူေအာင္းေနတဲ့ တေယာက္ကုိ နင္တုိ႔ စိတ္ဆုိးၾကမယ္ထင္တာ။ ျမန္မာျပည္ထဲက နင္တုိ႔ေတြကေတာ့ “ဒါမ်ိဳး ႐ုိး...ဟုိးဟုိးေနျပီ”ဆုိတဲ့ ပံုစံအျပည့္္နဲ႔။ လူေတြ ေသျပီး ႏွစ္ပတ္ေက်ာ္မွ ၀မ္းနည္းေၾကကြဲျခင္း သံုးရက္ အူေၾကာင္ေၾကာင္ ေၾကညာေတာ့လဲ နင္တုိ႔ စိတ္မ၀င္စားအားဘူး။ “အာလူးတပိႆာ ၅၀၀ တဲ့။ အိတ္လုိက္၀ယ္ျပီး တအိမ္ေထာင္ ေလးငါးလံုးရရ ေ၀ေပးရင္ ေကာင္းမယ္”၊ “ပုစြန္ေျခာက္ေတြ ငါးေျခာက္ေသးေသးေလးေတြ ေလးငါးအိတ္ စု၀ယ္ျပီး င႐ုတ္သီးနဲ႔ ေၾကာ္ရေအာင္။ ဆာလာအိတ္ေတြနဲ႔ သယ္သြားျပီး ေ၀ရင္ ႏွစ္ရြာေလာက္ေတာ့ တနပ္စာ ရမွာပါ”ဆုိတာေတြနဲ႔ပဲ ဗ်ာမ်ားေနတယ္။
နင္တုိ႔က ဘယ္ေလာက္ရရ တေန႔တေန႔ ေ၀လုိ႔ မေလာက္ႏုိင္တဲ့ ဆန္ေတြ၊ ဆီေတြ၊ င႐ုတ္ၾကက္သြန္ေတြနဲ႔ ဒုကၡသည္ေတြရဲ႕ ေမွ်ာ္လင့္မ်က္ႏွာေတြၾကား ေခါင္းမေဖာ္ႏုိင္ေအာင္ ျဖစ္ေနတဲ့အခ်ိန္မွာ သမုဒၵရာတဖက္က ငါလဲ လမ္းေတြ႔သမွ် ျဖဴျဖဴၫိုၫုိ လူမ်ိဳးေပါင္းစံုရဲ႕ ေမးခြန္းေတြကုိ ေျဖျပီးရင္း ေျဖေနရတယ္။

ေသတဲ့သူေတြအတြက္ ရက္လည္ဆြမ္းေတာင္ ႏွစ္ခါျပန္ သြတ္ျပီးေလာက္တဲ့ ၁၇ ရက္ေျမာက္ေန႔မွ လူၾကားထဲ ခပ္တည္တည္ ထြက္လာတဲ့ ငါတုိ႔ ႏုိင္ငံေတာ္အၾကီးအကဲဟာ ေတာ္ေတာ္တန္တန္ ႏုိင္ငံမွာဆုိ အ႐ုိးတျခားအသားတျခား ျဖစ္သြားေလာက္တယ္။ ႏုိင္ငံအၾကီးအကဲဆုိတဲ့သူရဲ႕ မ်က္ႏွာေပၚက စိတ္မပါ့တပါ အျပံဳးေတာင့္ေတာင့္ၾကီးရယ္၊ လက္ႏွစ္ဖက္ ေတာင့္ေတာင့္ၾကီး ေဘးခ်လုိ႔ လုိက္လာတဲ့ ေနာက္ေတာ္ပါ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္ေတြရယ္၊ လူၾကီးလာစစ္မယ္ဆုိလုိ႔ အေရးေပၚ ေဆာက္ျပီးစ ရြက္ဖ်င္တဲေတြေရွ႔မွာ မတ္တပ္ရပ္ျပီး ေတာင့္ေတာင့္ၾကီး အသင့္ေစာင့္ေနရတဲ့ ဒုကၡသည္ေတြရယ္ကုိ ျမင္ရတာ သက္ေသာင့္သက္သာ မရွိလုိက္တာ။ မ်က္ႏွာေပၚက အေၾကာအျခင္ေတြကလဲ အားလံုး တညီတည္း ေတာင့္လုိ႔။
ေရွ႕ဆံုးကေန ယူနီေဖာင္း လွလွ၀တ္ျပီး လက္ယမ္းျပေနတဲ့ ႏုိင္ငံ့ေခါင္းေဆာင္ပံုကုိ ၾကည့္ရင္း သူ႔ႏုိင္ငံက ေတာသူေတာင္သားေတြဆီ အေရာက္ဆင္းျပီး သူ႔လက္နဲ႔ အသံုးအေဆာင္ပစၥည္းေတြ ကုိယ္တုိင္ ေ၀တတ္တဲ့ ထုိင္းဘုရင္ ဘူမိေဘာ အဒူယာဒက္ကုိ ျမင္ေယာင္တယ္။ ပစၥည္းေတြ ျခင္းေတြနဲ႔ထည့္ျပီး ေပးေနတဲ့ ထုိင္းဘုရင္နဲ႔ လက္ခံယူေနတဲ့ ေတာသားၾကီးေတြရဲ႕ မ်က္ႏွာေပၚမွာ အျပန္အလွန္ ေႏြးေထြးမႈေတြနဲ႔။
၁၉၇၃ ခုႏွစ္က တကမၻာလံုးမွာ စြမ္းအင္ျပႆနာ ျဖစ္ေတာ့ ေနာ္ေ၀မွာလဲ စြမ္းအင္္ ေခၽြတာတဲ့အေနနဲ႔ စေန တနဂၤေႏြ ႐ံုးပိတ္ရက္ေတြမွာ ကားေမာင္းတာကုိ ပိတ္ထားတယ္။ သြားစရာ လာစရာ ရွိတဲ့သူေတြ အမ်ားသံုး ရထားကုိပဲ သံုးၾကေပါ့။
ေအာ္စလုိ ျမိဳ႕ျပင္မွာ ႏွင္းေလွ်ာစီးခ်င္တဲ့ အသက္ ၇၀ အရြယ္ အဘုိးၾကီးတေယာက္ဟာ စည္းကမ္းကုိ လုိက္နာတဲ့အေနနဲ႔ သူ သံုးေနက် ကားကုိ ထားခဲ့ျပီး အမ်ားျပည္သူသံုး ရထားေပၚ တေယာက္တည္း တက္လာတယ္။ တခံုျပီးတခံု လက္မွတ္လုိက္စစ္၊ လေပးလက္မွတ္ မသံုးတဲ့ သူေတြကုိ တေၾကာင္းစာလက္မွတ္ေရာင္းနဲ႔ အလုပ္မ်ားေနတဲ့ လက္မွတ္စစ္ သူ႔နားေရာက္လာေတာ့ အဘုိးၾကီးက လက္မွတ္ခ ေပးဖုိ႔ ေငြအေၾကြေတြကုိ အိတ္ထဲက ထုတ္လုိက္တယ္။
လက္မွတ္စစ္က သူ႔ကုိ လက္မွတ္ခ အေၾကြေလးေတြ ကမ္းေပးေနတဲ့ ေနာ္ေ၀ဘုရင္ ပဥၥမေျမာက္ အုိလာ့ဗ္ကုိ အျပံဳးနဲ႔ၾကည့္ျပီး ျပန္ေျဖလုိက္တယ္။

တျခားခရီးသည္ေတြနဲ႔ ေရာျပီး ရထားေပၚမွာ ေအးေအးေဆးေဆး စီးလုိက္လာတဲ့ အဘုိးၾကီးဟာ ေနာ္ေ၀ဘုရင္မင္းျမတ္မွန္းသိေတာ့ လက္မွတ္ခ စုိက္ရွင္းေပးသြားတဲ့ သူ႔ျပည္သူေတြနဲ႔ ဘုရင္ၾကားက ဆက္ဆံေရးက ဒုိးယုိေပါက္ ေႏြးေထြးပြင့္လင္းလုိ႔။ ကုိယ္ရံေတာ္ အေစာင့္အေရွာက္မပါဘဲ လူထုၾကားမွာ တေယာက္တည္း သြားလာတတ္တဲ့ အုိလာ့ဗ္ဘုရင္ကုိ သတင္းစာဆရာ တေယာက္က “အကာအကြယ္မဲ့ သြားလာရတာ ဘုရင္မင္းျမတ္ မေၾကာက္ဘူးလား”လုိ႔ ေမးခြန္းထုတ္ဖူးတယ္။
“က်ဳပ္က ဘာေၾကာက္ရမွာလဲဗ်။ က်ဳပ္မွာ ကုိယ္ရံေတာ္ ေလးသန္းေတာင္ ရွိေနတာပဲ”
အဲဒီအခ်ိန္က သူ႔ႏုိင္ငံ လူဦးေရကုိ ရည္ညႊန္းျပီး ဘုရင္ၾကီးက ျပန္ေျဖလုိက္တယ္။
ၾကိဳမွာထားတဲ့အတုိင္း လက္အုပ္ျပိဳင္တူ ခ်ီျပီး ၾကိဳေနရတဲ့ ပိန္လွီႏြမ္းဖတ္ ဒုကၡသည္ေတြ ေရွ႕ကေန အေစာင့္အေရွာက္ အျပည့္နဲ႔ ေတာင့္ေတာင့္ၾကီး ျဖတ္ေလွ်ာက္လာတဲ့ ”ႏုိင္ငံ့ေခါင္းေဆာင္”ေတြကုိ ၾကည့္ျပီး အုိလာ့ဗ္ဘုရင္ကုိ ျမင္ေယာင္မိတယ္။
